Melanie Duquesnel
President & CEO
Melanie was appointed President & CEO of the Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Michigan April 2010. Ms. Duquesnel was chosen to lead the BBB as she is a performance driven leader. As an innovative thinker with broad-based experience in business development, finance and operations, Melanie has the proven ability to quickly analyze key business drivers and develop strategies to grow the bottom line. She is a high integrity, energetic leader known for ability to envision and create successful outcomes in complex situations. She has diverse industry experience, with a tenacious commitment to driving sales, profit and market-share growth.
Previously, Ms. Duquesnel has a 20 year successful banking career in the business lending arena. Her banking experience included U.S. Small Business Administration lending, working with minority and women owned businesses in furthering their business financial objectives as well as a significant contribution to the nonprofit community. Her involvement has included The Center for Empowerment & Economic Development, Mosaic Youth Theatre, Metropolitan Growth & Development, Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Habitat for Humanity.
Lisa Dilg
Director of Community Relations
Lisa Dilg joined the Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Michigan in March 2012 and is currently the Director of Community Relations where she is tasked with creating business and community awareness for the Better Business Bureau, developing a larger presence in the business community, and providing strategic marketing and communications for the organization. Dilg is a public relations executive with thirteen years of experience and a successful track record in managing client accounts, developing strategic alliances, planning and executing social and traditional campaigns and developing innovative strategies for clients that range in size from emerging start-ups to established public companies. Prior to her work in the public relations field, Dilg was the Director of Programming for the City of Novi’s After-School program for teens, where she took the city-wide, multi-site program from concept to execution to serve thousands of area teens.
Dilg received her Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts degrees from Central Michigan University and currently serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer for Living Skills Residential Services, Inc.
Doris Hendricks
Accreditation Coordinator
Doris joined the Better Business Bureau serving Eastern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula in February of 2012. Serving as the Accreditation Coordinator, she supports our newly accredited businesses with their benefits, business reviews and networking events. Doris has worked providing event coordination and management for several non-profit organizations in Southeastern Michigan, most recently serving as a Volunteer Coordinator representing the Corporate Sector, at United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

Michelle Michels
Vice President of Operations
Michelle joined the Better Business Bureau serving Eastern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula in 2007 with a 20 year background in operations, finance and information systems management. Michelle was a member of the senior management team at Franklin Athletic Club for 15 years, a nationally ranked health and racquet sports facility, and ultimately held the position of C.F.O. Most recently, Michelle held the position of Operations and Accounting Manager with an ISP providing desktop software solutions. Her responsibilities with the BBB include oversight of BBB Operations; including Dispute Resolution, Advertising and Charity Review, Consumer Information, IT and Administration departments.
Sandra Rooks
Director of Business Reviews
Sandra joined the Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula as a Customer Service Representative and was promoted to Dispute Resolution Manager in 1984 and Director of Business Reviews in 2010. Ms. Rooks’ managerial responsibilities include supervising the BBB’s Dispute Resolution Department and overseeing the BBB’s Auto Line and Binding Arbitration Programs. In 1981, Ms. Rooks earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Marsha Peskin
Manager of Advertising Review
Marsha joined the Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula as a Business Relations Representative in January 2008. In that position, she counseled business owners on how to use BBB Accreditation to benefit their businesses. In July 2010, Marsha was promoted to Manager of Advertising Review. As Ad Review Manager, Marsha supervises the Ad Review Program, which includes complaint processing and issuing advertising challenges to local businesses. She also oversees the BBB/Detroit Auto Dealers Association Automotive Advertising Standards program; the Furniture Retailers’ Advertising Standards program and the BBB’s Charity Review Program. Marsha also oversees the BBB’s Military Line program, which assists local enlisted military personnel and their families.

Director of Administration
Sam joined the Better Business Bureau serving Eastern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula in 1984 as an Accounts Payable clerk and was soon promoted to Financial Assistant. In 1996, Mrs. Kudwa was again promoted to Manager of Administration. Her current responsibilities include overseeing all financial aspects of the BBB as well as supervision of the BBB’s yearly audit. She also handles all benefits administration and human resource issues. She is a volunteer counselor for the youth group at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fenton Michigan.
